Registration is open !

Registration for the 9th International Self-Determination Theory Conference (Geneva, July 2026) includes full access to both the scientific and social components of the event, held over four inspiring days at the Geneva International Conference Centre (CICG) — a world-class venue located in the heart of international Geneva, offering exceptional facilities and comfort.

  • Access to the full scientific programme, including all keynotes, symposia, paper sessions, and poster presentations.
  • Daily lunches and coffee breaks throughout the conference, as indicated in the programme.
  • Admission to the Gala Dinner.
  • Conference materials, such as the digital programme, participant list, and name badge.
  • Access to the conference app and online abstracts.

Please note: Accommodation and travel expenses are not included in the registration fee. Participation in optional social or cultural activities (if offered) may require separate registration.

*A copy of your student card or a stamped letter from your educational facility detailing your field of study and expected completion date. Students should be enrolled at the time of registration and during the Event. Students who graduate in 2026 ahead of the Event will be accepted.

Travel Grant Application:

To facilitate participation for students, doctoral candidates, and post-doctoral fellows, the Center for Self-Determination Theory (CSDT) is awarding a limited number of travel grants of $(US) 500 each. We especially encourage applications from individuals who might otherwise be unable to attend.

To apply, please send an email to the following email address sdt-registration@kit-group.org by 31 January 2026 at the latest, including the information listed below:

  • Email subject: SDT 2026 – Grant Application.
  • In your message, please make sure to indicate your status and country, as well as a statement including a brief description of your financial need and how receiving this travel award would make it possible for you to attend.
  • Attach or paste a CV/resume.
  • Attach or paste your Abstract Presentation Submission.

Payment / Registration Confirmation / Invoice:

The registration fee is based on the date of the receipt of completed online registration AND payment in full in accordance with the deadlines mentioned above. Should one deadline be missed or the payment received after the deadline, the next applicable fee will be charged automatically. The registration confirmation/invoice will be provided upon receipt of payment in full and proof of status if applicable.
